DESIGNER LINE EMERALDS

In the fall of 2001 NOAH'S BOAS produced its first line of "Designer Emeralds". The sire is an Emerald Basin and the dam a Northern Emerald. The results are spectacular! We did not undertake this project for money-making purposes but rather as an attempt to create new, rare Emeralds. I do not consider this to be a hybrid project as both animals are Emeralds. The only difference is the locality. I have been told by a few individuals that on rare instances during their excursions into the Amazon, they have found "Nothern" Emeralds and "Basin" Emeralds co-existing in the same regions, sharing the same body of water. I truly believe that they must breed on ocassion. In no way does this project take precidence over my Northern X Nothern breeding projects or my Basin X Basin breeding projects, but rather it is a nice addition to those. Most of us breeders dream of a future Emerald market which includes pied ball Emeralds or possibly a solid red adult. Hopefully these "Designer Line Emeralds" will be the foundation for that dream.

Our second batch of very exquisite Designers was born in August of 2003. Photos of them are on this page as well, and a picture is worth a thousand words!  As with our first Designer line, this litter also hails from F2, C.B.B. bloodlines.  We have never seen anything like these 4 Emeralds before.  We plan on placing them into breeding projects for the 2008 season.  We cannot wait to see what their offspring will look like!  We also currently have placed some of the 2001 Designers into breeding projects as well.  We hope to have offspring from them later this year.

UPDATED DESIGNER EMERALD NEWS:  Since we have put several of our 2001 Designers into breeding projects, they have been exhibiting characteristics we have never seen before.  For instance, one of the breeding girls is developing more and more  white on her face and one of the breeding males is displaying white flowers all over his body!  Still others are gaining large amounts of blue on their face and bodies.  All of the 2001 Designers have dark slate gray to lightly colored eyes.  Their green colors range from dark green to a beautiful lime green.  One of the girls looks more yellow than green!  Some of them have a lot of black bordering their green.  Their bellies range from pearl white to  yellowish/blue. They are very unique indeed!  We can only imagine what characteristics their offspring will display.  We hope to have updated photos of their new coloring on this page very soon.
